Cloture Vote In
U. S. Senate
Re Samuel Alito
Filibuster –

filibuster
1. A long, often irrelevant speech given in order to delay progress or the making of a decision, especially at a committee or senate
2. a freebooter, or mercenary soldier
Verb
to filibuster (intransitive or transitive)
1. To use obstructionist tactics in a legislative body
2. To take part in a private military action in a foreign country
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Filibuster
cloture (plural clotures)
1. A motion of a legislature used to halt debate on an issue and put it to a vote.
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cloture
Tabacco: A “NO” vote on cloture allows filibuster to continue, in effect halting the nomination process. A “YEA” vote on cloture limits debate, prevents filibuster and, since Republicans control the Senate, guarantees that Samuel Alito will be confirmed as Sandra Day O’Connor’s replacement on the Supreme Court.
41 “YEA” Votes and “Non Votes” are required to defeat cloture, allow filibuster and in effect stop Alito.
Voting “YEA” on Cloture, then “NO” on the actual confirmation is a disingenuous, political move by Senators, who should be defeated in the next primary when they come up for reelection to the Senate. A brief description of this act is “hypocrite”. Democrats, henceforth known as Hypocrites, will be designated by Tabacco with the letter “H” next to their names on the Roll-Calls. These hypocrites “H” are no better than those Democrats, who vote “YEA” on cloture and “YEA” on Alito’s confirmation. Tabacco refers to these Democrats as Turncoats and designates them with the letter “T” next to their names on the Roll-Calls. For all practical purposes, these two categories are synonymous.
Democrats, not voting, designated as “NV” are also virtually synonymous with Hypocrites “H” and Turncoats “T”, although their non-votes do not add up to the 60 required to stop Filibuster. Defeat of these “NV” Senators at their next primary election is not therefore automatically called for, based on this “non vote” alone.

Republican Chaffee of RI
voted "YEA" on Cloture -
Republican coward***
Note that even with 15 of the original 19 Democrats, who voted “YEA” on Cloture, voting “NO” on Confirmation, Alito was still confirmed. If they had voted “NO” on Cloture instead, the 2nd Vote would never have occurred. The 15 Hypocrites, cowardly Democrats with “H” next to their names are particularly disgusting. These 15 are indicative of why Democrats are perceived as weak and incapable of leading. Tabacco will follow these 15 Hypocrites and work assiduously to defeat them in their next primaries.
Harkin of Iowa, the one “Non Voting” Democrat coward, voted “NO” in the actual confirmation. He will be scrutinized closely – Mr. Harkin, you have not escaped notice through your duplicitous political maneuvering. We know who you are!

Once again, the
Media and
the Liberals got it
wrong. It’s
not what Alito will
do to “Roe
V. Wade”; it’s what
he will do for
George W. Bush his
domestic spying,
warmongering
and other
nefarious deeds.
Can you spell
“Patriot Act II”?

Confirmed, Ha Ha Ha! If the filibuster had succeed, it would have been in
vain. Can you say NUCLEAR OPTION? Then I would have still written,
