Laxatives Should Be Avoided:

If You Want To Find Out The Truth,

Go To Their Competitors - RI9

I saw one of those half-hour infomercials where they solve all your problems for you.  I wasn’t particularly interested in the product, although I myself used a similar product to good advantage.  The product is a “natural” herb colon-cleansing system.  What caught my interest were the comments they made about “Laxatives” because I have never been sold on them.  So I am quoting the comments they made about laxatives rather than the self-congratulating about their own product.

They (Duke Liberatore and Jan McBarron, MD, with Researcher and resident expert, Klee Irwin) identify themselves as the HNN (Health News Network).  Well it wasn’t hard to identify this gabfest as a paid ad from ‘Longevity and Health’, not a “News” program.  They do identify it as a paid ad, but proceed like a news program to impress viewers, who pay little attention to disclaimers anyway.  Ask Liggett & Myers about that.

They call it a “Toxic Colon Build-up”, which combines with slow moving bowel contents to produce a litany of ills.

Klee Irwin: “…and then the other bottle, which is a combination of a few dozen different fibers and herbs that get your colon moving the way it’s supposed to, not by liquefying your colon the way a laxative does, but by simply training the peristaltic muscles in your colon to move the food through your body properly.”

“Laxatives liquefy the contents of your bowel, and they don’t remove the stuff that’s stuck to the insides of your colon walls.  They give you watery stool, and they weaken the muscles that create the undulating movement that keeps everything moving through your digestive system.  So because they weaken those muscles, they weaken your ability to keep things moving. People can actually become dependent on them.  And that’s why doctors tell you, “You shouldn’t use a laxative actually for more than a couple of weeks after a surgery, an extreme situation like that.”
