Tabacco:
Raise your right hand if you believe the smoothest talker is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the better-looking one is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one you like best is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one who projects more sincerity is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one who projects more passion is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the taller one is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one with the most money and most TV ads is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the blond one is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one with blue eyes is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the woman is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one who makes the most promises is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one who invokes his or her Christianity the most is always the better candidate!
Raise your right hand if you believe the one whose stated positions are closer to your own is always the better candidate!
And finally, raise your right hand if you believe the one who wins your coin flip is always the better candidate!
Now how many of you are tired of raising that right hand?
Then why do you persist in making the obviously faulty and worthless assessment of which is the better candidate, based on Smoothness of Delivery? Good Looks? Personality? Sincerity? Height? Plethora Of TV Ads? Hair Color? Eye Color? Sex? Promises? Religion? Coin Flip?
Incidentally, we’re talking about the Democrat vs. the Republican since few will bother to vote for any 3rd Party candidate “because he or she cannot win!” Let’s analyze that LOGIC!
That’s known as a CIRCULAR ARGUMENT! However we shall leave that bit of ILLOGIC for another day!
Since none of these characteristics, either alone or in combination, guarantees anything, why walk down that path one more time!
Anytime I ask anybody whom they are voting for, I generally hear two words - “like” and “better”. Who gives a fuck whether you “like” a candidate or not! And if these are your criteria from which you decide the fate of the world, is it any wonder the world is in such an awful state!
Let us consider that politically incorrect consideration: ISSUES! I say “politically incorrect” because I hear it so rarely. Yes, there was or is a TV talk show called “Issues And Answers”. But have you ever watched it? Ho-hum!
“Issues” might be a good idea if anyone could distinguish between ISSUES and TRIVIA or ISSUES and DISTRACTIONS! In discussing Health Care Reform, the MSM focuses on Deathers and Death Squads, Town Hall obstructionists, Senate filibuster, compromise, tort reform, capitalism vs. socialism or socialized medicine, and other “issues”, which sidetrack, evade and obstruct any serious discussion of the issue of HEALTH CARE REFORM. Tort Reform is an EARMARK vis-à-vis Health Care Reform!
And remember that ABC presidential debate that spent 45 minutes of the allotted hour discussing Obama’s relationship with Reverend Wright? We neither get serious discussion of the issues from the Media nor recognize subterfuge when it is perpetrated on us. So a serious discussion of ISSUES is basically a fantasy in America!
There is only one Criterium that is effective 99% of the time - IS THE CANDIDATE A DEMOCRAT OR A REPUBLICAN? We all know it! But most pretend they are not biased one way or the other. These morons seek to portray themselves as impartial and intelligent voters, who always select the man, not the Party! What a crock of SHIT! For their criteria, go back to my title. As for the issues? We just discussed that futility.
I do not claim to always vote Democratic – however I do avow I never vote Republican. The good thing about never voting Republican is that I NEVER make the INSANE CHOICE - you remember - doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result! That’s one definition of Insanity!
I voted for the Green Party candidate, Howie Hawkins, against Hillary Clinton in the last New York Senatorial election. I must admit though I knew my non-Hillary vote would not elect a Republican! Even Tabacco has been bitten by that “Illogic” previously touched upon.
Some voters actually do split their ticket. Some voters actually do ignore Party and instead focus on Smooth talker? Good Looks? Personality? Sincerity? Height? Plethora Of TV Ads? Hair Color? Eye Color? Sex? Promises? Religion? Coin Flip? And these are the voters, who consider themselves impartial and intelligent.
Suppose the GOP had selected Mother Teresa, instead of George W. Bush, in 2000 and 2004! Would that have made a difference? Before you say, “Of course!”, consider that not only is Teresa dead, but there was no way Republicans could have selected such a candidate even if she were viable!
If Gandhi ran as a Republican against Hitler as a Democrat, I would vote Democratic! You could not trust anyone, who ran as a Republican - not anyone! Tabacco does not engage in that pointless exercise:
I would vote against Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Michael Steele, the Pope, Ross Perot, Ron Paul, or Jesus Christ if they run as Republicans! Of course none of those previously mentioned, except Hitler, would have a snowball’s chance in Hell of even getting the GOP nomination!
So let’s cut the crap, get serious, realize there is not going to be a serious discussion of any serious issue, remove the phrase “the man, not the Party” from our personal Lexicon and admit to ourselves and others that if we are not Have-Mores, high-level corporate executives, investors – not workers, religious bigots, paid obstructionists, IQ-challenged and educationally deprived robots, we have only 1 viable choice in any election:
Tabacco: I consider myself both a funnel and a filter. I funnel information, not readily available on the Mass Media, which is ignored and/or suppressed. I filter out the irrelevancies and trivialities to save both the time and effort of my Readers and bring consternation to the enemies of Truth & Fairness! When you read Tabacco, if you don’t learn something NEW, I’ve wasted your time.
