CONTINUED FROM PART I: Plan! To End War & Capital Punishment (Sanctioned Murders) In The USA – Capital Punishment I

The George Bush administration is very careful in selecting with which countries it will go to war: Oil-rich countries under dictators we propped up in the first place, Islamic is preferable to Christian, connection to Osama Bin Laden - while preferable - is not essential (else why didn't we attack Saudi Arabia on September 12, 2001; after all, most of the plane hijackers were Saudis), certainly nuclear-virgin-countries (although if we can pin the 'WMD" tag on them, so much the better for public relations), certainly not North Korea or China (although we will talk the talk with those two, we just won't walk the walk), and certainly not Rwanda (yeah, they are suffering and genocide is a way of life, but where's the profit in going there?). The theory is a simple one: 1-pick out a likely oil-rich target 2-connect them with Osama & WMD's 3-bomb the holy crap out of their country so Halliburton can go in and clean up while collecting billions from the gullible American public 4-invade them, while protecting their oil pipelines which we can later rape and pillage (after all, who's to count barrels but us) and most importantly 5-spread the wealth around to the Big Business types in the good ole US of A and keep the media stifled and scared. Now let's see: Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc. etc. Hell, we could run the world for at least the next 50 years, and the Democrats won't dare challenge us for fear of being called Un-American. And they sure as hell can't out-imperialize us. Thank God for good old Conservative-Republican Think Tanks. It's a great plan - I love it. (You have just been eavesdropping on the thoughts of Karl Rove and Dick Cheney. You certainly don't think George W. Bush is capable of complicated machinations like that, do you!)

Now back to the War:

WAR WEAPONS & THEIR EFFECTS:

Bullet Wound:

In addition to the full-metal-jacketed construction which makes them "military" bullets, the pointed ogival "spitzer" tip shape is shared by all modern military bullets. The obvious advantage of this streamlined shape is decreased air drag, allowing the bullet to retain velocity better for improved long-range performance. A modern military 7.62 mm bullet (with all-lead core) will lose only about one-third of its muzzle velocity over 467 m; the same weight bullet with a round-nose shape loses more than one-half of its velocity over the same distance.

Bullet mass and bullet striking velocity establish a bullet's potential; they set the limit on the tissue disruption it can produce. Bullet shape and construction determine how much of this potential is actually used to disrupt tissue; they are the major determinants of bullet effect. Whether we like to admit it or not, the primary purpose of military rifle bullets is to disrupt human tissue. Yet the effects of bullets on bodies - the characteristic tissue disruption patterns produced by various bullets - remains unclear even to many of those who design and produce bullets.

Anyone who has ever seen a bullet hole recognizes that in many cases it is, in fact, more what might be called a potential hole; it need not be gaping open. One can, however, easily pass a probe through it, as is commonly done by forensic pathologists to establish the direction or angle of the shot. How deeply the bullet penetrated and its attitude (yawed or straight) and form (deformed or fragmented) as it penetrated, along with the approximate distance the walls of the hole were stretched after the bullet passed (temporary cavity) - this is the crucial information needed to understand the wounding mechanisms.

Hand Grenade:

A hand grenade is a hand-held bomb, made to be thrown by a soldier. Some grenades are designed to be fired by a grenade launcher. Some grenades are cylindrical and are designed to be fired from riot guns designed for the purpose.

Using grenades
A classic hand grenade has a handle and a removable safety pin that prevents the handle from coming off. After the pin is removed and the handle subsequently released, the grenade will detonate in approximately three to five seconds, depending on grenade type.

When using a grenade, the objective is to have the grenade land with too little time for the enemy to throw it back. One grasps the grenade, including the handle, in the strong hand. Next one estimates the time of flight to the enemy and subtracts it from four. Then one pulls the pin out of the grenade, releases the handle, waits the time not needed for flight and throws the grenade at the intended target.

A common mistake is to grasp the grenade in the weak hand, pull the pin, and then throw the pin. (This mistake is a staple of humorous cartoons involving war.) Another common mistake is to fail to grasp the handle, and then pull the pin. In this case, the grenade might explode while one is calculating times.

A basic safety precaution is to always throw a grenade from cover. Therefore, if anything goes wrong, it can be thrown quickly out of the cover.

Agent Orange:
Agent Orange, primarily for tropical climates, was used in the Vietnam War. The purpose of the product was to deny an enemy cover and concealment in dense terrain by defoliating trees and shrubbery where the enemy could hide. The product "Agent Orange" (a code name for the orange band that was used to mark the drums it was stored in, was principally effective against broad-leaf foliage, such as the dense jungle-like terrain found in Southeast Asia.

Agent Orange was a 50-50 mix of two chemicals, known conventionally as 2,4,D and 2,4,5,T. The combined product was mixed with kerosene or diesel fuel and dispersed by aircraft, vehicle, and hand spraying. An estimated 19 million gallons of Agent Orange were used in South Vietnam during the war.

What are the results of exposure to this herbicide? The earliest health concerns about Agent Orange were about the product's contamination with TCDD, or dioxin. TCDD is one of a family of dioxins, some found in nature, and are cousins of the dibenzofurans and pcb's. The TCDD found in Agent Orange is thought to be harmful to man. In laboratory tests on animals, TCDD has caused a wide variety of diseases, many of them fatal. TCDD is not found in nature, but rather is a man-made and always unwanted byproduct of the chemical manufacturing process. The Agent Orange used in Vietnam was later found to be extremely contaminated with TCDD.

Land Mines:
Casualties In Cambodia - NEW YORK, 24 November 2004 – UNICEF will join hundreds of international organizations, global leaders and individuals to demand a ban on landmines at the Nairobi Summit on a Mine-Free World from November 29 to December 3.

Thousands of children all over the world are being killed, injured and orphaned by landmines and unexploded ordnance discarded or fired by combatants.

In Cambodia, one of the worst affected countries, children account for about half of all landmine casualties. Two years ago, 14-year-old Lay Sokhum stepped on a mine while working in his father’s field near Pailin in western Cambodia. “After the blast I saw smoke,” he explained. “I was on the ground and didn’t know what had happened. It was only when I tried to move that I realized I was bleeding.”

Surgery saved Lay’s life, but not his legs. At first he was so shocked and depressed by his disability that he dropped out of school, but after months of rehabilitation and the fitting of two prosthetic legs he’s able to walk around unassisted and even cycle to school on a bike paid for by funds from UNICEF.

As well as working to help the victims of mines and unexploded ordnance, UNICEF believes mine risk education is a key strategy to prevent more children getting killed or maimed.

UNICEF’s Executive Director Carol Bellamy will attend the upcoming Nairobi Summit on a Mine-Free World with 14-year-old Nikola Kokorus from Bosnia who lost his hand in a landmine explosion when he was just three years old. He will make a personal plea on behalf of Lay Sokhum and all the world’s other landmine victims for all countries to join the Mine Ban Treaty, which prohibits the use, stockpiling or production of landmines.

A total of 143 states have so far ratified the agreement, which became law in 1999.

A-bomb:
The Hiroshima Meteorological Observatory reported that just after the flash, black smoke rose from the ground up to the sky reaching an altitude of several thousand meters, and covered the whole city. When the fireball disappeared, the angry clouds, like grey smoke, rose and reached an altitude of 8,000 meters in 5 minutes after the explosion.

"...a policeman took off the lid of an oil can and started to give first aid treatment to the people with burns, but the number of the injured increased rapidly. I thought this must be photographed and held the camera in position. The scene I saw through the finder was too cruel. Among the hundreds of injured persons of whom you cannot tell the difference between male and female, there were children screaming 'It's hot, it's hot!' and infants crying over the body of their mother who appeared to be already dead. I tried to pull myself together by telling myself that I'm a news cameraman, and it is my duty and privilege to take a photograph, even if it is just one, and even if people take me as a devil or a cold-hearted man. I finally managed to press the shutter, but when I looked the finder for the second time, the object was blurred by tears."

We have briefly described the "tools of war" and the results of their usage. But a picture is worth a thousand words - Listening to or reading about war is not the same as seeing pictures, or better yet, videos of real war. This leads me to my solution for exterminating both War and Capital Punishment in America.

My Solution In Two Words: T-E-L-E-V-I-S-I-O-N EXPOSURE!

WAR:
War must be independently covered by a free media to show women and children being maimed, tortured and exterminated on a 24-hour public television network so everyone may view it.

Burned boy corpse from United States A-bomb Attack! We know it was the United States because no other country ever did anything this horrible.

"The War Channel" will get its money from the Federal Government, but just like the Supreme Court, it must be able to act independently. Unlike the Supreme Court, neither the President nor Congress can have any financial or selection control over the people who run The War Channel; nor can advertisers or business interests. Principles will be determined by national election in off years without support from political parties. No ads or advertiser control can be exerted. No Presidential or Congressional monkeying around and no gifts, corporate-congressional-public-private. In fact, The War Channel must operate as the 4th Branch of government, neither connected nor responsible to any other Branch, including the Supreme Court, nor restricted by the military. They must set their own restrictions in battle situations, protected by the military. UN control would be even better, but that would be expecting too much. It is obvious now that the major media can be controlled by the President. But governmental licensing and the fear of losing their gains by the mega-corporations, that own the Networks and most Cable channels, insured that this would occur one day when Big Business & Big Government united in an unholy alliance.

Now tell me how brave our soldiers are, what heroes they are, how great a President George W. Bush is, and why the United States must “stay-the-course” in Iraq and not “cut-and-run”. Look at these pictures and tell me these things, and I will tell you what kind of monster you are.

EXECUTIONS:
A Federal law should be passed that all executions must be televised in real time so our children can see what barbarians their parents and political leaders are. No switch can be pulled unless cameras are rolling and live coverage is in force. Since executions historically occur at midnight, the littlest would normally be spared the atrocity.

If they can publicly humiliate men who frequent prostitutes, I see no reason why the pimps and whores who saturate our local and national governments shouldn’t be subjected to the same public exposure and criticism. If you don’t get to see it, you don’t know how horrible it really is. Execution is irreversible; it is not a video game. Anyone, who claims, "we never get convictions wrong", is either a liar or a fool or both.

IN CONCLUSION:
Televising both War and Executions would change both practices drastically. When the people see how horrible it really is, just as the dogs and beatings of civil rights protestors changed public opinion in the 1960s, there would be a backlash against any unjustified war and all executions. Maybe even the conservatives would be satisfied with life-in-prison terms, since they cannot see the obvious - namely that Capital Punishment does nothing to reduce Capital Crimes.

These actions can only occur on a National level, since it is obvious that the South will never miss an opportunity to execute a black person and the rich will not eschew an opportunity to turn a fast buck.

Attempting to reason with the hawks and conservatives is pointless. Public knowledge and viewing of these two atrocities by the voters will pressure our politicos much more than even contributions to reelection campaigns. A governor cannot allow executions to please his conservative backers without incurring the wrath of truly compassionate, liberal voters. A Senator cannot casually vote for an unjust war, knowing that only those, who watch C-Span all day long, will know which side of the vote he came down on. By seeing the unvarnished truth, the public will no longer be ignorant and disengaged. People can care once again. Just as the rich won't permit the draft, which will result in the deaths of their offspring, if the people see women and children dying in war (even if their eyes are slanted or they wear turbans on their heads), these deaths and loss of body parts will strike home. And the barbarity of executions, even lethal injection, will wipe the ennui and disinterest from the public persona. And, if it works in America, I dare say it would work in any other country. Maybe we can end war throughout the world, just as criminal execution has ceased to exist in every major country except the United States & Russia. Even Great Britain has ended the practice.

When you view the Visuals, and you must; try not to think of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; try instead to think of Cleveland and New York.
