There is no intention in this Article to either condone, poke fun at or diminish the evil of Dr. Josef Mengele.  The venom, anger and ridicule here is reserved for George W. Bush.  It is my opinion that Mengele ultimately paid for his crimes against humanity.  My hope is that George W. Bush and his Nazi-like co-conspirators will also pay for their crimes here on earth.

IT IS MY DUTY TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, GEORGE WALKER BUSH, WAS UNANIMOUSLY ACCLAIMED WINNER OF THE 1ST ANNUAL DR. JOSEF MENGELE HUMANITARIAN AWARD.

In case you are unfamiliar with the Dr., he was a Nazi leader under Adolf Hitler, better known as "Auschwitz's Angel of Death". I am sure Dr. Mengele is pleased with the selection of GWB for this eponymous award, wherever the Dr. is now.



The 'Gate of Death' at Auschwitz

The death factory at Auschwitz was a gruesome kingdom of human misery. Barracks and their inhabitants were inundated with the foulest of sanitary conditions. Diseases such as typhus and diarrhea were rampant, as were lice, vermin and fleas. It was over this kingdom, which Dr. Josef Mengele sought to preside. Mengele’s stated mission at Auschwitz was to perform research on human genetics.

But it was not merely his military background, which would come to distinguish Mengele from his colleagues, but his obsessed devotion to his work at Auschwitz that established his reputation as a ruthless, cold-blooded killer whose name inspired fear even in other SS officers. He immediately demonstrated a deep capacity for wanton murder during a typhus epidemic that broke out in the camp just days after he had arrived. He ordered a thousand Gypsy men and women who had the disease to the gas chambers, while sparing the lives of German Gypsies.

This "frigid cruelty" Dr. Lengyels spoke of would oftentimes give way to a searing hot rage which Mengele would unleash without warning upon those who sought to challenge the order he sought to establish in the camp. Inmate-doctor Gisella Perl recalls an incident when Mengele caught a woman in her sixth attempt to escape from a truck transporting victims to the gas chamber.

He grabbed her by the neck and proceeded to beat her head to a bloody pulp. He hit her, slapped her, boxed her, always her head -- screaming at the top of his voice, "You want to escape, don’t you. You can’t escape now. You are going to burn like the others, you are going to croak, you dirty Jew." As I watched, I saw her two beautiful, intelligent eyes disappear under a layer of blood. And in a few seconds, her straight, pointed nose was a flat, broken, bleeding mass. Half an hour later, Dr. Mengele returned to the hospital. He took a piece of perfumed soap out of his bag and, whistling gaily with a smile of deep satisfaction on his face, he began to wash his hands.

Despite his demonstrated ability to be both frigid and detached as well as cruel and brutal, Mengele also demonstrated a carefree, charming side, which he used to disarm both colleagues and victims alike. He acted in a caring, concerned manner when confronted with exhausted women and their children on the ramp, only to send them to the gas chambers a moment later. His movie star looks and his confident, authoritative manner made him sexually desirable to the very women that he degraded, tortured and murdered. The totally unpredictable nature of Mengele’s personality became his most powerful tool for exerting control over both prisoners and prison personnel, for it instilled a deep-seated primal fear into all those with whom he came into contact.

In addition to the selections and beatings, Mengele occupied his time with other numerous acts of the most base cruelty, including the dissection of live infants; the castration of boys and men without the use of an anesthetic; and the administering of high-voltage electric shocks to women inmates under the auspices of testing their endurance. On one occasion Mengele even sterilized a group of Polish nuns with an X-ray machine, leaving the celibate women horribly burned.




Some of you may think it unfair to compare George W. Bush to Dr. Mengele. You are right! The Doctor was intelligent, talented and up front with his evil. But the good Doctor was only on a par with Bush when it comes to murder and lack of remorse. We considered the other option: giving the George W. Bush Award to Dr. Mengele. But we feel Dr. Mengele was worse if only incrementally so.



Allow me to enumerate the reasons GWB was selected to be the honoree.

1- In discouraging dissent by calling anyone who does a "traitor to America", in threatening to deny White House access to any member of the Fourth Estate, GWB has intimidated the media, the Democrats, the Republicans, black voters, protesters and Heads of State, who fear assassination. Mengele would be proud.

2- GWB lied to the public and Congress about the "proofs" of WMD's in Iraq he possessed; he lied about having no litmus test for judges since almost all are conservative; he lied about the need for immediate Social Security reform and the best method of doing it; he lied about his own military record and was photographed standing on warships and wearing military trappings to obfuscate the truth - George W. Bush is a coward, who went AWOL in the military and on 9/11; he lied to the Evangelicals and other religious denominations, pretending to be a Christian, when in fact, his only interest in religion is getting those people to vote for him and his policies. Dr. Mengele and Adolf Hitler could have learned from GWB.

3- GWB is responsible for removing duly elected Heads of State such as Jean-Bertrand Aristide of Haiti and having others assassinated because they would not compromise their own country's best interests to the interest of GWB and US Big Business.

4- Although GWB has never had an original thought in his life, he is the figurehead for the kakistocrats in his administration and "Think Tanks". He, therefore, is directly responsible for the deaths of 1,600+ American soldiers of both sexes and tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens (including women and children) for financial gain and control of Iraqi oil and other resources. Remember, the US is supposed to be "saving" the Iraqis from Saddam Hussein, and GWB himself declared the War over and won many months ago. So why are our servicemen still dying? The Nazis didn't worry much about human life either.

5- In thwarting Stem Cell Research, he has effectively refuted his own arguments against abortion. It is obvious to anyone, except the most warped minds in our country, that to deny science the ability to cure major illnesses because of destruction of living cells (which will be destroyed anyway) and fighting Dr. Kevorkian and removal of tubes from patients who are vegetables, is totally inconsistent with the Death Penalty (which he enforced rigorously and without compassion as Governor of Texas) and the genocides abroad and murder of American soldiers for the sole purpose of the almighty dollar. Hypocrisy, thy name is Bush. Adolf Hitler cannot die as long as George W. Bush lives.

6- Like the Mafia (Cosa Nostra), Bush has selected the worst thugs, criminals, hypocrites and most selfish people in the country to fill his Cabinet and our Courts. Why? Because others, who have committed capital crimes, are less likely to become the 21st Century "Deep Throat". "Birds of a feather flock together."

7- In limiting medical liability and malpractice awards, he protects Big Business and incompetent doctors by thwarting average people in their attempts to redress abuses, which often result in death or incapacity.

8- In making blacks in his administration extremely visible, he gives the impression the Republican party is replete with blacks, he puts a universality on his dastardly policies, he camouflages the fact that he has fought against Affirmative Action, and he attempts to split the black vote, predominantly Democratic. In paying Armstrong Williams and black preachers, surreptitiously, to support him and his policies he has reached new lows in duplicity and "Divide and Conquer" strategy. The good news is that if any black preacher supports Bush from the pulpit henceforth, anyone, in the congregation, can stand up and ask, "How much did you get", provided they are prepared for expulsion.

9- In permitting large companies to default on pensions, he is propping up their bottom line. "A penny saved is a penny earned." - Benjamin Franklin (American Statesman, Scientist, Philosopher, Printer, Writer and Inventor, 1706-1790)

10- GWB's "No Child Left Behind Act" has done exactly the opposite. The Republicans are superb at assigning a positive appellation to a dastardly policy. (See "Patriot Act" and "compassionate conservative")

11- In handing over political prisoners to totalitarian and brutal foreign regimes, GWB is able to torture them and avoid taking responsibility for it.

12- GWB stole the Florida elections in 2000 and 2004; he stole the Ohio election in 2004. I thought it was illegal for 10,000 Republican "lawyers" to go to polling places on Election Day and contest black, and only black, voters.

13- GWB has done his best to ignore illegal immigration and border crossings to give small business a larger pool of workers who will toil for Minimum Wage or less. What about terrorists who may cross the Mexican border into the United States, you ask! Well, which is more important - getting illegals to work dirt-cheap or preventing our cities and military institutions from being bombed by terrorists? Well, I guess that answers the question, "Is national security GWB's primary concern?"

14- In getting Saddam Hussein to disarm himself of any chemical or biological weapons in his arsenal, (God only knows why anyone believed the nuclear threat), then attacking Iraq anyway while minimizing resistance, GWB outdid any great general you can name. So why are we still fighting?
