Suicide Bombers Truly Believe In Their Cause - Do

U.S. Defectors Or Need-A-Job Recruits? Why America

Will Lose Another War!

There is a telling conversation in “Godfather II” between Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) and Hyman Roth (Lee Strasberg) in Havana under Batista. The US and its Mafioso supported the dictator before Castro and the communists take over:
Michael astutely senses profound changes within the political arena, sparked by his witnessing the death of a Fidel Castro rebel, and he doubts the rosy prospects of wealth and fortune:

Michael: A rebel was being arrested by the military police, and rather than be taken alive, he exploded a grenade he had hidden in his jacket. He killed himself and he took a captain of the command with him...it occurred to me the soldiers are paid to fight, the rebels aren't.

Roth: What does that tell you?

Michael: They can win!

Suicide bomber's paraphernalia

A suicide bombing is a bomb attack on people or property, committed by a person who knows the explosion will cause his or her own death in addition to the attack's primary purpose.

Suicide bombing is a kind of tactic planned and organized by extremely committed military or paramilitary groups. This tactic became widely known during the Second World War in the Pacific as U.S. ships were attacked by Japanese kamikaze pilots, who caused the maximum damage by flying their aircraft into targets. Since the 1980s, the low cost and high lethality of the tactic have made it a favorite with guerrilla, insurgent, and especially terrorist groups, notably in the Middle East and Sri Lanka. Suicide bombings by Islamist terrorists, mostly in the Al-Aqsa Intifada and the Iraqi insurgency, have drawn great attention since 2000.

Tabacco: There is the fact that the terrorists are fighting for their own territory, while Americans are colonizers, just as the British were here before the American Revolution. They can and do fight to the death – will we? I don’t care what a soldier says in public, deep down in his heart he must know, before he dies, that this war, just as all others before it, is about land, natural resources, money and power, not liberty as the demagogues in the Bush administration insist. How long before the majority rebel against a President, who has gone much too far and for all the wrong reasons. You only get one life – I, for one, would not waste it.

Americans have a fatal flaw: they are supreme jingoists! Everything America does is great – end of story. They are myopic to the way America has treated Native Americans, Blacks, citizens without land property, witches, women and suffrage, child labor, Irish immigrants, US Japanese citizens in World War II (we didn’t put Germans or Italians in concentration camps as we did the Japanese), homosexuals and you name it – America has discriminated against it.

So when the Bushites told us we had to go to war with Iraq because we “knew” they had WMDs, Americans were much too quick to believe and support the spin. We now know for sure that George W. Bush & Company were full of “shinola”. Americans have got to stop thinking everything American is great because it isn’t. We have got to stop waving flags at the drop of a lie; we have got to stop cheering genocidal soldiers, who happen to wear the uniform of the U.S. military. In short, we have got to start thinking for ourselves. Politicians have had it too easy in the past. Deceiving Americans is duck soup – just wave the flag and spout a few platitudes and you’ve got ‘em in the palm of your hands. And we must never again let any President put his hands around the throat of the media and squelch the truth.

2 Doubting Thomas articles

A very interesting theory.
Read the entire story for yourself. I’m not going to print it here because that would make you lazy, and besides this article is long enough already.

Same “doubting Thomas” theory - my question is: “Are all suicide bombers illiterate, never read a newspaper, watch TV news or talk to friends and family to learn about other bombers, who got blown up themselves? Does that possibility never cross their minds?”

The theory, that the terrorist officers don’t tell the suicide bombers that they don’t have time to escape, doesn’t wash. You might pull that off a couple of times; but people talk, and word would get around so that the next group would know what was in store for them.

Yes, bombing while escaping is more sensible than suicide and much more efficient. Yet, it does cause your enemy great fear. That brings us back to Michael Corleone’s remark, “They can win!”

Summation: Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter who suicide bombers are or why they do it. The only really important thing is - they do it. How many of you are willing to blow yourselves up for George W. Bush and Halliburton? As Michael Corleone said, in ‘The Godfather II’, “They can win!”
