Euphemisms foster and abet fallacious myths and grotesque lies, usually dangerous ones, to become unchallenged, accepted facts. Euphemisms become accepted because people are embarrassed about accepting the unvarnished truth.

Conservatives prevent changes that are needed; opposed civil rights legislation. Liberals are too eager for unwise laws; overly ambitious LBJ urban renewal projects did more harm than good, disrupting neighborhoods, worsening circumstances.

The problem with Black vote is that in the Deep South, where it is plentiful, it is too evenly distributed. By moving to only 2 or 3 Deep Southern States, Blacks could swing the balance of power away from Rednecks and away from Republicans
