I just finished watching Martin Scorsese’s “The Age Of Innocence”.

Plot Summary for
The Age of Innocence (1993)
Society scion Newland Archer is engaged to May Welland, but his well-ordered life is upset when he meets May's unconventional cousin, the Countess Olenska. At first, Newland becomes a defender of the Countess, whose separation from her abusive husband makes her a social outcast in the restrictive high society of late-19th Century New York, but he finds in her a companion spirit and they fall in love.

While watching the film, I was reminded of the Jerry Springer Syndrome, in which the ‘Audience’ attempts to control the lives and actions of Prodigals or Contrarians.

In every age, there are always groups, which form like a pack of hyenas to gossip, manipulate and control, making each individual conform to the moralities and social mores of the group. Individuality be damned!
Of course, Jerry and Maury run ‘setup’ shows, and the credibility of many of their guests is extremely suspect. But the audience is not suspect. They are predator ‘Hyenas’ in a hunting pack.
In ‘The Age Of Innocence’, the group is the New York high society of the 1870s. The group usually limits its purview to the members of that group. But 21st century Right-Wing Christians want to include all members of American society under their scrutiny, mores and tyranny. They want to obstruct and limit Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, rich, poor, Black, White, Yellow & Red, mainly with restrictions and prohibitions, much the way the Christian Church does its own members, using the Bible as its base.
This must be acceptable to those Christians, who attend those Churches and conform to those prohibitions. But the Bush administration attempts to rewrite laws to conform to the mores of the Rapture Right. Why must atheists or Jews or Baptists be forced by law to obey the Laws of the Evangelical Church? The Separation Of Church And State is NO MORE!
Under Bush, America has become an Evangelical Christian State. In 1960 people worried about electing a Catholic President – John F. Kennedy. History has taught us that it’s Evangelicals, who are the dangerous ones, more so than Catholics.
This is the 21st century, and the Jerry Springer or Predator Hyena Syndrome is stronger than ever. Whatever happened to people, who mind their own business! Hypocrisy is rampant in America. Phillip Morris and now Lorillard Tobacco both run anti-smoking ads on TV. To these Tobacco Companies, I say there is a very simple way for them to work against smoking – STOP MANUFACTURING CIGARETTES!
The Hypocrisies related to these Predator Hyenas, including Right-Wing religious types, are a) these people ignore genocide, theft of oil, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the Separation of Church and State, and b) these same people are not without sin and corruption themselves.

There is a very good reason why the ‘Founding Fathers’ believed in Separation of Church and State. Bush only believes in it when it suits his purpose to do so.

I read your comment on Ed's blog and I read his Post. I am Black, and I am NOT offended. I don't know why you should be if I'm not! I posted about the same scandal but was trumped by Ed's epithet "house nigga". I wish I had thought of it first. I don't advise Jews about what to do re insults because they have never asked me for my advice. If a Jew did ask, I'd probably advise the same as I do for other Blacks. If someone like Big Daddy used the term, I would be offended. But I am not offended by Ed Strong. I repeat, "I am Black, and I am NOT OFFENDED by his use of the term!" It really does depend on who says it and their motivation! I've heard young Whites call young Black friends "nigga" frequently and nobody gets upset. Ed has my "permission" to use it as he sees fit, even if he doesn't have yours. In "BLACK, EXTREMELY RIGHT-WING & A CHRISTIAN ZEALOT - BUSH'S HOUSE 'NIGGA' Bush's sex police chief arrested: Claude Allen was the most prominent African-American on Bush's White House staff. His story is telling of the price exacted of an ambitious African-American in the contemporary Republican Party." I think Ed is DEAD ON! I wish I'd said that because that's exactly what Claude Allen was - Bush's HOUSE NIGGA! I feel more than qualified to speak on this issue! And I love Lenny Bruce's technique of calling Blacks in his audiences derogatory names, then explaining that by doing so, they would become immune to the terms. I advised my Readers to embrace "Cut and Run" as Blacks have embraced "NIGGER" and homosexuals have embraced "FAG". Once you do that, there is no sting in those terms. Ed Strong is neither unfair nor racist. Perhaps you are a little too sensitive or maybe you just want to "Pick a fight with Ed Strong". Tabacco

Check edstong's blog, Wednesday, 15 March 2006. The reference is in the
post's headline. Claude Allen was never refered to in such terms in the
Sidney Blumenthal article that edstrong posted. I doubt that edstrong has
ever refered to Israel's Likud party, Ehud Olmert, Ariel Sharon, Benjamin
Netanyahu, etc, as Bush's 'kikes' or 'yids'. edstrong and his supporters
seem to believe their behavior applies to certain racial groups.
